Welcome to my digital portfolio! My name is Olivia Wofter and this is the website I created while enrolled in Writing and Rhetorics II: Digital Literacy. In this portfolio you will find my daily writing blogs as well as a few projects we completed during the course. The blogs are my reactions to certain assigned readings.
The first project is titled I Just Want My Degree ASAP: A Found Social Media Essay. For this project, I took fragments from various forms of social media and put them together creatively to make a humorous essay with a common theme.
The second project is The Dating Game: How Tinder Has Influenced Modern Romance. This project required exploring a form of social media and conducting research by participating in that form of social media. I examined the different affordances and constraints of Tinder, a popular dating site among college students and young adults.
If you look at my Project 3 Reflection, you will find how I contributed to the gender gap on Wikipedia. I chose to edit the articles on Kris Jenner and Versace. This page shows my experience with the project and what I added to each of these articles, and my various thought processes throughout making these edits.
The final project, my Reflective Argument Essay, is a reflection on the course. In this essay, I discuss the evolution of my understanding of digital literacy. I reflect on the projects I completed during this course and how important it is to have digital literacy being a writer today.
